The Adirondack Council Celebrates its 2017 Forever Wild Day!

Forever Wild Day 2017On Saturday, July 8, over 200 people gathered in Overlook Park in Newcomb, for the Adirondack Council’s Forever Wild Day. The day featured a celebration of the Council's recent accomplishments, a luncheon and membership meeting, and guided outdoor activities including a tour of working forests at SUNY ESF and a paddle on the Hudson River.

We also presented our Conservationist of the Year award to Mike Carr of the Adirondack Land Trust and recognized the extraordinary work by photographer Carl Heilman II as we presented him with our Park Communicator award.

The day’s activities included a guided paddle with Dave and Ruth Olbert of Cloud-Splitter Outfitters and a working forest tour by SUNY-ESF’s Erin Griffin.  A delicious lunch for over 200 people was provided by Kelly and Tony Audino of The Hoot Owl Lodge
