Statement of the Adirondack Council on the
Passage of Ballot Proposal #1
Constitutional Amendment for Raquette Lake Water Supply

“We are extremely pleased with the overwhelmingly positive response that voters gave to the residents of Raquette Lake,” said Adirondack Council Executive Director Brian L. Houseal. “With nearly 98 percent of precincts now reporting, we still stand at 71% support for the amendment, with only 29% opposed.”

“The Adirondack Council looks forward to continuing our working relationship with local government officials to complete the land exchange as soon as possible,” continue Houseal. “We thank all New Yorkers for aiding a small hamlet and increasing the size of the Forest Preserve at the same time.”
